Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 1, 2026

This page describes how eCourtDate, Inc. ("eCourtDate", "we") handles data in the eCourtDate Document Generation API (the "API") and on this documentation site. It supplements the eCourtDate privacy policy, which governs the eCourtDate platform as a whole.

This documentation site

This site is a static, read-only site. It has no sign-in, no forms, and no advertising, and it serves all fonts and scripts from its own domain. Our hosting provider records standard technical logs (such as IP address and pages requested) to serve and secure the site.

Data the API processes

The API processes the data your agency submits in order to generate documents: templates and their fields, merge data, uploaded assets (logos, seals, signatures), and HTML content. eCourtDate processes this data on behalf of your agency and uses it only to provide the service. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising.

Requests are authenticated with API keys scoped to your account, and write operations record the person named in the X-On-Behalf-Of header in your account's audit trail.

Retention

The API keeps generated artifacts only briefly:

  • Generated outputs: retained for roughly 20 hours, then deleted. Download URLs are valid for 1 hour and can be re-signed while the output exists.
  • Batch job status: retained for 48 hours.
  • Templates, versions, and assets: retained until your agency deletes them.
  • Audit trail: administrative actions (who did what, and when) are retained for your agency's account.

The authoritative limits and windows are published in the conventions guide and the OpenAPI specification.

Security

All API traffic is encrypted in transit over HTTPS. Access is controlled by API keys with per-key scopes, created and revoked in the eCourtDate Console. Revoking a key takes effect immediately.

Changes

We may update this page as the service evolves. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date.
